On September 19-20.2024 The Financial Intelligence Agency (FIA) organized a study visit to the Italian Financial Intelligence Unit and the Vatican State Financial Information and Supervision Authority in Rome. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation between these institutions, share experiences and discuss future challenges.
The General Director of FIA during the meetings emphasized the very good institutional relations between our counterpart units both in terms of information exchange but also of the continuous support in the context of Albania’s assessment processes by international organizations. Also, FIA employees through this study visit benefited especially in the sharing of experiences in terms of compliance processes and case analysis in the field of preventing money laundering and terrorism financing. This two-day meeting was made possible through the financial support by GIZ, within the framework of the “Global Program of Combating Illicit Financial Flows”.
