Next Meeting of the Inter-Institutional Technical Working Group

On 25 June 2026, the Financial Intelligence Agency (FIA) held the regular meeting of the Inter-Institutional Technical Working Group (ITWG), chaired by the Director General of the FIA Mr. Ervin Koçi.
At the opening of the meeting, the membership of Albanian Association of Life Insurers, Pension Funds and Investment Funds, in the ITWG was welcomed and regarded as an important development contributing to enhanced inter-institutional cooperation and the strengthening of the national system for the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing.
One of the main issues addressed during the meeting was the review of the first draft Mutual Evaluation Report (MER) prepared by MONEYVAL. The importance of this process for Albania was emphasized, and institutions were called upon to provide their maximum contribution to the relevant sections of the report in order to ensure the most accurate reflection of the progress achieved, measures undertaken, and capacities developed within the national anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing framework.
The meeting also covered the monitoring of the implementation of the Action Plan of the National Strategy for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing 2024–2030, the Action Plan arising from the National Risk Assessment (NRA), the implementation of the 2026 Integrated Training Plan, as well as the ongoing work of the technical sub-groups.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-institutional coordination and ensuring the successful implementation of priorities related to the MONEYVAL process and the execution of national strategic documents.
