Fifth Meeting of the Interinstitutional Technical Working Group

On 19.12.2024, the fifth meeting of the Interinstitutional Technical Work Group (ITWG) was held.

Permanent members of ITWG, representatives of public institutions and the private sector participated in this meeting. Under the direction of the Director General of the Financial Intelligence Agency, the meeting was focused on addressing the following topics:

  • Monitoring the implementation of the National Strategy “For the Prevention of the National Strategy for the Prevention of Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism 2024 – 2030” and its Action Plan;
  • Monitoring the implementation of the National Risk Assessment (NRA) plan
  • Presentation of the final draft of the Strategy for public education on the risk of money laundering and terrorist financing in our society”;
  • Information on the operation of ITWG subgroups.
  • Presentation of the Integrated Training Plan for members of ITWG
  • ITWG priorities for 2025

The Director General of the Financial Intelligence Agency thanked the institutions for their dedication and continued work in the implementation of the “National Strategy for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism 2024 – 2030” and its Action Plan.

During this meeting, the “Strategy for educating the public on the risk of money laundering and the financing of terrorism in our society” and the “Integrated Training Plan” were approved. In this meeting, in particular, maximum attention was requested in the implementation of the priorities for 2025, since the major priority for Albania in 2025 is the 6th round of evaluation by MONEYVAL.
