The Financial Intelligence Agency participated in the international conference “FIUture-Proof 2026,” organized by the FIU-Nederland in The Hague, bringing together representatives of financial intelligence units, law enforcement agencies, supervisory authorities, policymakers, and the private sector.
Under the central theme, “How Effective Are We Really?”, the conference focused on strengthening financial intelligence through a systemic approach in response to challenges arising from technological developments, geopolitical changes, and increasingly complex forms of financial crime. Discussions explored ways to transform financial information into actionable intelligence, as well as how to adapt processes, technology, and human capacities to effectively address current and emerging threats.
The event also highlighted that open dialogue, shared expertise, and the strong commitment of all stakeholders underscore the importance of continuing and strengthening cooperation between public and private partners at both national and international levels.
The conference served as an important platform for the exchange of experiences and best practices, contributing to enhanced collective efforts in the prevention and fight against money laundering, terrorist financing, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
