On October 30, 2025, a roundtable discussion was held on raising awareness and promoting understanding in the FinTech sector, organized by the Financial Intelligence Agency and the European Movement in Albania, within the framework of the National Convention for European Integration.
The discussions focused on the challenges and opportunities that financial technology brings in preventing money laundering, terrorism financing, and the financing of weapons of mass destruction.
Participants included representatives from civil society, the private sector, public institutions, and legal professionals.
The importance of the following was emphasized:

Cooperation and exchange of experiences for a secure and sustainable FinTech sector;
• Digitalization and innovation in the financial system, ensuring transaction monitoring and transparency;
• Regulations and legal frameworks to manage the risks associated with financial technology;
• Public awareness for the safe use of financial services and prevention of financial fraud.
The meeting concluded with an interactive discussion on protection strategies and the role of cooperation among various stakeholders.
