The Financial Intelligence Agency (AIF) and the General Inspectorate (GI) signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening interinstitutional cooperation and increasing effectiveness in preventing and combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing of weapons of mass destruction.
Cooperation with the General Inspectorate aims to strengthen mechanisms for identifying and reporting suspicious cases, as well as to facilitate the exchange of information and typologies in this area. This cooperation will also focus on the development of training activities, the exchange of expertise, and enhancing knowledge of risk indicators related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing of weapons of mass destruction.
AIF recognizes the importance of this cooperation and remains committed to further strengthening the institutional partnership and promoting a coordinated approach to addressing financial crime risks. Strengthening preventive mechanisms and enhancing cooperation among institutions are essential elements for an effective system to prevent and combat financial crime.
