Participation of the Financial Intelligence Agency in the 5th International G7 Conference “No Money for Terror”

As part of the 5th edition of the “No Money For Terror” Conference, attended by the Finance Ministers of the G7 countries, Paris welcomed representatives from the public and private sectors, as well as international counterparts, in a series of activities dedicated to strengthening cooperation in the fight against terrorist financing.
The Financial Intelligence Agency participated in the international seminar organized by Tracfin, dedicated to combating the financing of terrorism, with the participation of the General Director of the Agency.
The event was addressed by Roland Lescure, French Minister of Economy and Finance, Antoine Magnant, Director of Tracfin, as well as Elzbieta Franków-Jaskiewicz, President of the Egmont Group of Financial Intelligence Units, who emphasized the importance of public-private cooperation and international coordination in combating terrorist financing.
The discussions focused on preventing the misuse of financial innovations for terrorist financing purposes, the links between terrorist financing and organized crime, as well as the importance of interinstitutional and international cooperation in addressing these risks.
Albania is undertaking concrete steps to strengthen the integrity of the financial system through the modernization of financial monitoring mechanisms, the strengthening of financial intelligence, and the expansion of expertise in emerging areas such as FinTech, crypto-assets, and digital finance.
