Meeting of the Inter-Institutional Technical Working Group (ITWG)

On July 18, 2025, the latest meeting of the Inter-Institutional Technical Working Group (IITWG) was held.
All members of the ITWG participated in this meeting, including representatives from public institutions and the private sector.

Under the leadership of the General Director of the Financial Intelligence Agency, the discussion focused on the following topics:

  • Updates on the completion of the Technical Compliance Questionnaire and the Effectiveness Questionnaire in the framework of Albania’s 6th round of evaluation by MONEYVAL;
  • Monitoring the implementation of the “National Strategy for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing 2024–2030” and its action plan, for the period January – April 2025;
  • Monitoring the implementation of the “National Risk Assessment” and its action plan, for the period January – April 2025;
  • Discussion on the implementation of the Integrated Training Plan and the “Strategy for Public Awareness on the Risks of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing in Our Society,” including its action plan;
  • The activity of the IITWG sub-group on “The Collection and Quality of Information for Criminal Investigations Related to ML/TF.”

The General Director of the Financial Intelligence Agency emphasized the critical importance of the 6th round of evaluation by MONEYVAL, highlighting the need for accurate and high-quality completion of the questionnaires, as well as following deadlines carefully, in order to achieve and reflect effective and tangible results.

The meeting concluded with important outcomes aimed at strengthening inter-institutional cooperation and advancing the implementation of measures and strategies in the fight against financial crime.
