The Financial Intelligence Agency (AIF) has successfully completed the implementation of the Data Diode solution, a significant investment aimed at strengthening cybersecurity and protecting the institution’s information technology infrastructure.

This project was carried out within the framework of the “European Union for Law Enforcement in Albania – Phase II (EU4LEA II)” project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

During 29–30 June 2026, experts from byteprotect GmbH conducted, at the premises of AIF, the installation, configuration, testing, and training activities for the technical staff on the use and administration of the system.

The implementation of this solution represents an important step towards enhancing AIF’s capacities in protecting its information systems, strengthening cybersecurity standards and increasing the reliability of its technological infrastructure in support of the institution’s mission.

The Financial Intelligence Agency expresses its appreciation to the European Union for the financial support provided for this project, to GIZ Albania for the cooperation and coordination throughout the implementation process, and to byteprotect GmbH for the professionalism and technical expertise demonstrated during the project delivery.
