Participation of the Albanian Delegation in the International “No Money For Terror” Conference

Within the framework of the international “No Money For Terror” conference, organized under the French Presidency of the G7 and initiated by Tracfin, ministerial meetings and meetings among financial intelligence units brought together representatives of financial institutions and international organizations to discuss challenges related to terrorist financing and the need to strengthen global coordination, institutional cooperation, and public-private partnerships.
The conference was addressed by French President Emmanuel Macron and French Minister of Economy and Finance Roland Lescure, who emphasized the importance of international coordination in combating terrorist financing.
The Albanian delegation was led by the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Petrit Malaj, and the General Director of the Financial Intelligence Agency, Mr. Ervin Koçi. Discussions focused on strengthening financial information exchange, addressing risks related to new financial technologies and virtual assets, and preventing the misuse of electronic payments for terrorist financing.
At the conclusion of the conference, participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the fight against terrorist financing in line with FATF international standards and recommendations.
