On 12 November 2025, the regular meeting of the Interinstitutional Technical Working Group (ITWG) was held, with the special participation of Mr. Philipp Arnold, Deputy Head of Mission of the Swiss Embassy to Albania. During his remarks, Mr. Arnold presented the the new Project supported by the Swiss Government (through the State Secretariat of Economic Affairs, SECO) and the Council of Europe, which will be implemented in Albania, as well as the ways in which Albanian institutions will benefit from this project.
The meeting was attended by the permanent members of the ITWG, as well as representatives from public institutions and the private sector. Under the direction of the General Director of the Financial Intelligence Agency, the 4-month monitoring report for the period May–August 2025 was presented on:
- The implementation of the action plan of the National Strategy for the Prevention of Money Laundering and the action plan of the National Risk Assessment (NRA);
• The presentation of the Integrated Training Plan and the implementation of the “Public Education Strategy on the risks posed by money laundering, terrorist financing, and weapons of mass destruction in our society.”
During the meeting, all participating institutions discussed the progress of completing the Effectiveness Questionnaire and reported their achievements to date.
The General Director of the Financial Intelligence Agency emphasized the utmost importance of the 6th round of evaluation by MONEYVAL, highlighting the need for maximum attention to the accurate and high-quality completion of the questionnaires, as well as adherence to the deadlines for their submission.
Mr. Koçi also assured that the FIA will continue to provide assistance to all reporting institutions during the questionnaire-completion process, in order to achieve a measurable and successful outcome.
