On 05/28/2014, the General Director of GDPML Mr. Genti Gazheli and other officials of this institution held a working meeting with representatives of Western Union in Tirana and AML / TF experts of this company on an international level. During this meeting it was mainly discussed the current level of cooperation in the function of strengthening the system to prevent money laundering and terrorism financing, reporting in accordance with the Albanian legislation and international standards, strategic assessment of trends and dynamics of money transfers, as well as the role that Western Union has as a powerful global company, the identification of indicators and evaluation of typologies of money laundering and terrorism financing, the implementation of international sanctions obligations, the staff training measures and the support that GDPML has given and is expected to give for this purpose in the future, etc. The meeting was developed in a constructive spirit, defining the measures for further cooperation.
